COMPANY & COMPETITION
Company
Company is an invite-only class reserved for committed dancers with well-rounded abilities across dance styles. Company classes reinforce foundational dance technique and support dedicated development of each dancer. While formal auditions are not a prerequisite to Company admission, each Company dancer is required to choreograph a 30-45 second dance in their style of choice to be performed in front of fellow Company members and the Studio Director. TDC also accepts inquiries from parents who would like their child to join company.
Competition
Select students have the opportunity to participate in dance competitions. Competition season is February through April, and TDC generally competes in 2-3 competitions per season. Competitions will be local to Fairfield County and take place Friday-Sunday. There is an entry fee for each competition, and the exact schedule will be made available the week before the competition.
Class Requirements
Members of the Company and Competition Team are required to take 5 classes per week, including:
Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Turns, Leaps & Jumps (1.5 hours), and Company 1 or 2 (1.5 hours). Hip Hop is optional.
