Policies & FAQs

Studio Policies

GENERAL

  • All new students must complete a registration form before completing any classes.

  • Parents/guardians must go inside the studio to pick up their child. If an adult other than a parent or guardian is picking up the child, TDC must be notified in advance.

  • No videotaping is allowed on premises, unless authorized by the teacher and/or Studio Director.

  • Classes will not be observed by parents or guardians as to not distract or disrupt the class experience. Parents may watch the class with prior permission from the teacher.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS

  • Outside/street shoes are not allowed in the studios. Please change into your dance shoes in the lobby when you arrive.

  • Dancers may store their personal belongings in common areas.

  • Please remember to check cubbies so that your items are not left behind and the studio stays clean. Water is the only beverage allowed in-studio. Bring a reusable water bottle when possible. No open lids are permitted.

  • Please refrain from bringing food to the studio whenever possible.

  • Everyone is responsible for cleaning up after themselves.

PUNCTUALITY

  • Students are expected to arrive at the studio 5 minutes before class begins. This allows time for getting settled in, greeting friends, and using the restroom. We understand that traffic, appointments, etc. prevent students from arriving on time. We have a 10-minute grace period for lateness.

  • Doors will close promptly at 10 minutes after the hour. This shows respect to the instructors and students that arrive on time and minimizes disruptions to the class.

ATTENDANCE

  • If a student misses two classes of the same style, the student will be required to make up the class at the lower level. For example, if a student misses 2 weeks of Jazz 3, they will be required to attend a session of Jazz 2.

  • Students will be notified if they need to make up classes. If the student's schedule will not allow for attending the lower level class, a private lesson must be taken instead.

ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Children’s program admission may be transferred to a different program (e.g. switching from Ballet 2 to Contemporary 2), but refunds will not be granted.
